The annual BCW In Action Traditional Black History Month Brunch was a rousing success, providing attendees with a positive and welcoming environment to celebrate Black excellence and reflect on the past. This year's event was made even more special by the presence of Deimira Baidoo, President of Melcom Homes, who served as the Keynote Speaker.

Held in various locations across Canada, each BCW In Action office chose a different theme for the event. This year, the focus in Calgary was on The Impact of Black Communities in the Housing Sector. This topic was particularly timely given the ongoing discussions around affordable housing and access to safe and secure housing for marginalized communities.

Throughout the event, attendees engaged in open conversations that reflected on the past, while also looking forward to the future with optimism and hope. The brunch provided a platform for individuals to share their stories and experiences, and to celebrate the resilience and strength of Black communities in Canada.

Deimira Baidoo's keynote address was a highlight of the event. As President of Melcom Homes, he shared his insights on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the housing sector, and how it can positively impact businesses and society as a whole. He also emphasized the need for greater support for Black entrepreneurs and leaders in the industry and encouraged attendees to continue pushing for change.

Overall, this year's BCW In Action Traditional Black History Month Brunch was a powerful and uplifting experience. The event highlighted the accomplishments and contributions of Black Canadians and provided a platform for meaningful conversations around important issues. It was an honour for all attendees to be a part of such an inspiring and thought-provoking event, and we look forward to next year's celebration.
